WHAT IS INTEGRATIVE MEDICINE?
Integrative medicine is an approach that combines conventional medical treatments with evidence-based complementary and alternative therapies to promote holistic health and well-being.
It focuses on treating the whole person—considering physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual aspects—rather than just addressing isolated symptoms or diseases.
This approach emphasizes the partnership between the patient and practitioner, aiming to promote optimal health and wellness by addressing the root causes of illness and supporting the body’s natural healing mechanisms.
Integrative medicine can incorporate tools and technologies that work together with the body's natural healing cycles and mechanisms, to promote self healing and natural strengthening rhythms.
So it is not merely about using natural methods and supplements instead of drugs, but about restoring core values and principles of health living into everyday life, and integrating complementary therapies into comprehensive treatment plans alongside orthodox methods.
WHAT HAPPENS AT A CONSULTATION?
Dr Thomas will send you an intake form to complete before the consultation, and may request you to send some lab test or other information ahead of the session.
Sessions are usually 90 minutes to 2 hours - aimed at getting a very good understanding of your issues, and making the links between what is happening in your body, your mind and your emotions.
Once the consultation is complete, you may be asked to order some Lab tests or an Oligoscan for further information, or it may be recommended that you start with one of our other therapies to start addressing your specific issue.
